Who we are and what this covers

OmniRemote is a remote control app for smart TVs on your Wi-Fi, made by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with information on your iPhone or iPad, what leaves your device, and why. It covers the app only: your TVs, Apple, Google and RevenueCat follow their own policies.

In short: there is no account and no usage analytics, and your TVs and pairing keys stay on your device.

What stays on your device

To reconnect quickly, OmniRemote keeps on your iPhone or iPad:

• for each saved TV: its name, platform and model, its last IP address, its MAC address when the TV shares it, and when you last used it;

• the pairing keys each TV gave the app (Samsung token, LG client key, the Android TV certificate and its private key, the Sony Pre-Shared Key you typed). They sit in the iOS keychain, readable on this device only and never synced to iCloud Keychain;

• your preferences: haptics, keep screen awake, reconnect to the last TV, language, the last mode used on each TV, and whether onboarding is done.

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Like any app's data, the TV list and preferences can be part of your device's own iCloud or computer backup; the keychain keys are not.

Your local network

OmniRemote talks only to TVs on the Wi-Fi you are using, directly, with no server in between.

• Finding TVs: it listens for the Bonjour announcements TVs make (Android TV remote, Google Cast and AirPlay names, used only to recognise a TV; the app never casts or streams) and briefly checks the addresses of your own Wi-Fi for the ports TVs use for remote control. For this it reads your device's own Wi-Fi address, not the Wi-Fi name and not your location.

• Controlling a TV: the buttons you press, the text you type in Keys, trackpad moves and the app you open go only to that TV, in its maker's own protocol. While pairing, the TV learns the app's name, OmniRemote, and may list it among its connected devices.

• Wake TV sends a wake-up packet carrying the TV's MAC address to that TV.

Nothing from your local network leaves your home network. What a TV does with the commands it receives is covered by its maker's policy.

Remote settings

When it starts, OmniRemote downloads a small settings file from our server (api.filiberprint.click) over a secure connection. The file holds only the ad unit identifiers, whether ads are on and how often they appear, the RevenueCat public key and the App Store link. It never turns a feature on or off.

The request carries the app's name and version and, like any internet request, your IP address. It contains no identifier and nothing about your TVs. The server may keep standard access logs (IP address, time, app version) for security and troubleshooting. If the file can't be reached, the app uses the copy built into it.

Ads and tracking

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob: one when the app opens, a full-screen ad after some taps on switching TVs, starting Find my TV or opening TV details, and ad cards in Find my TV results, My TVs and Settings. Ads never appear on the controller, and Premium shows none at all.

To serve and measure ads, Google's software receives information such as your IP address, device model, system version, an approximate location worked out from the IP address, and how you interact with the ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform) asks for your choice first; you can change it later in the privacy section of OmniRemote's Settings.

iOS also asks whether OmniRemote may track you (App Tracking Transparency). Only if you allow it does Google receive your device's advertising identifier for personalised ads. Your answer changes nothing in how the remote works. How Google uses this data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Purchases

Premium is bought through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your name, your Apple Account or your card.

To know whether Premium is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous ID created for this app, your purchase receipts, your IP address and basic device information (system and app version, store country). RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy

Permissions

OmniRemote asks for two permissions, each at the moment it is needed:

• Local Network: after you tap Continue on the Find my TV explanation, so the app can find TVs and send them your presses. Without it no TV can be reached. You can change it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network.

• Tracking: at launch, the iOS question about ads described above. Saying no doesn't limit any feature.

The app doesn't use your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, location or notifications.

No account, no usage analytics

You never sign up or log in. OmniRemote has no analytics or crash-reporting service of its own and doesn't record which buttons you press, which TV apps you open or what you type.

If you share analytics with app developers in your device's settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports. If you email us, we receive your address and your message, use them only to reply, and delete them when you ask.

Children

OmniRemote is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. We collect no personal information through the app from anyone, children included. In the free version, ads come from Google under the consent and tracking choices made on the device; a parent can turn tracking off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Your choices

• Forget this TV, in TV details, deletes that TV and its pairing keys from your device.

• Deleting the app removes the saved TVs and preferences. Keychain keys that iOS keeps after an app is deleted are wiped the next time OmniRemote is installed.

• Change your ad consent in the privacy section of OmniRemote's Settings, and tracking in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

• With Premium, no ads are requested at all.

• We hold no personal data about you, so requests about ad data go to Google and requests about purchases to Apple. We're glad to help with either at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If what the app does with information changes, we update this policy and the date at the top before that version is released. Important changes are also mentioned in the App Store update notes.
