What OmniRemote is
OmniRemote is a universal remote for smart TVs on your Wi-Fi: it finds the TV, pairs once, then controls it with a D-pad, volume and channels, a trackpad or swipe pad, a keyboard and an app launcher. By downloading or using it, you accept these terms.
OmniRemote is an independent universal controller and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Samsung, LG, Sony, Roku, Google or any other trademark holder.
What it isn't
OmniRemote works over Wi-Fi, not infrared: iPhones and iPads have no infrared transmitter, so TVs without a network connection can't be controlled. It doesn't cast photos or videos and has no voice search.
This version supports Android TV / Google TV, Roku, Samsung Tizen (2016 and later), LG webOS and Sony Bravia without Google TV. Fire TV, Vizio, Hisense VIDAA, Samsung TVs from 2014–2015, Apple TV and Chromecast without Google TV are not supported. Some TV settings can only be reached with the TV's own remote.
Your responsibilities
Use OmniRemote only with TVs you own or are allowed to control, on networks you are allowed to use. You decide which settings to change on your TV (such as IP control or network standby) and keep its Pre-Shared Key or other access codes safe. Your device, your Wi-Fi and your internet connection are yours to provide.
Free and Premium
Free: one saved TV, Remote and Numbers modes, Power, Wake TV, and finding and pairing every supported TV. The free version shows ads, never on the controller.
Premium: Touch, Keys and Apps modes, as many saved TVs as you like, and no ads at all.
What each mode can do depends on what your TV supports. Prices, periods and any free trial are shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy.
Auto-renewing subscriptions
Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. It renews for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before that.
If a free trial is offered, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial is lost when you buy a subscription.
Manage or cancel in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions. Deleting the app doesn't cancel. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own rules.
Fair use
Don't use OmniRemote to control or disturb other people's TVs without their permission, to interfere with networks, or to break the law. Don't copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer the app beyond what the law allows, click ads artificially, or try to get around Premium.
We may change or stop a feature, for example when a TV maker changes how its TVs accept commands.
Trademarks
Samsung, Tizen, LG, webOS, Sony, Bravia, Roku, Android TV, Google TV, Chromecast, Google Cast, Fire TV, Vizio, Hisense, VIDAA, Apple TV and AirPlay are trademarks of their owners. OmniRemote names them only to say which TVs it works with or doesn't; this implies no partnership. The OmniRemote name, icon and design are ours.
Apple's standard licence
OmniRemote is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula), and these terms add to it. Apple is not responsible for the app, its content or its support; we are.
No warranty
OmniRemote is provided “as is”. We work to keep it reliable, but we can't promise that every TV, model or firmware will work, that every command arrives, or that the app is free of errors. A TV maker can change or close the way its TVs accept remote commands in a software update, and your network affects speed and reach. Keep your TV's own remote within reach.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the results of commands you send to your TV (for example a setting changed or a programme stopped). Our total liability is limited to what you paid for Premium in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that the law doesn't allow to be excluded.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the app changes. The date at the top shows the current version, and important changes are also mentioned in the App Store update notes. Using the app after an update means you accept the new terms.
